Third monkey located in Tahmoor

The third monkey that was allegedly stolen from a wildlife park in Helensburgh at the weekend has been located safe and well in Tahmoor tonight, NSW Police say.

About 8.30pm today, police were called to a vet on York Street following reports that a monkey had been left in a box on the front doorstep.

On arrival officers located the Pygmy Marmoset monkey alive and well.

Arrangements have been made to return the monkey to the wildlife park tonight.

Two men, aged 23 and 26, appeared in Campbelltown Local Court today on charges relating to the theft of three monkeys from the wildlife park on Saturday 26 November 2016.

Two of the monkeys were located about 3pm on Sunday 27 November 2016 in a vehicle on Appin Road.
