Third person charged over aggravated break-in - Strike Force Freddie

A third person will appear at court today over an alleged connection to a break and enter in the state's north west.

About 8.50pm on Monday 23 December 2019, police will allege a group of males – two armed with a baseball bat and sharpening tool – forced their way into a house on Swan Street, North Tamworth.

Police allege the occupants, three men aged 22, 22 and 24, were threatened and assaulted before the men stole personal identification, mobile phones, laptops and car keys.

Officers from Oxley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation under Strike Force Freddie.

The three men were taken to Tamworth Hospital in a stable condition.

On Wednesday 29 January 2020, detectives arrested two men– both aged 22 - at Merrylands and were taken to Granville Police Station where they were charged. They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, detectives from Oxley Police District arrested a 29-year-old woman at a home in Swan Street, Tamworth.

She was taken to Tamworth Police Station and has been charged with conceal serious indictable offence.

She has been refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today (6 March 2020).
