Third person dies following crash in Cabramatta

A third person has died following a fatal two-vehicle crash in Cabramatta last week, with a man currently before the courts, NSW Police say.

About 1.15pm on Wednesday 18 January 2017, emergency services were called to Cabramatta Road, near the intersection of Bauer Road, following reports of a crash.

Initial investigations suggest a Honda Jazz and a Citroen Xsara crashed head-on.

A passenger in the Honda, a 75-year-old woman, died at the scene.

The second passenger of the Honda, a 79-year-old man, was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he later died on 20 January 2017.

The driver of the Honda, a 54-year-old man, the driver of the Citroen, a 22-year-old man and passenger of the Citroen, a 21-year-old woman, were all taken to Liverpool Hospital with serious injuries.

today, the 54-year-old man died in hospital.

A 22-year-old man remains before the courts after being charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and negligent driving occasioning death.

He is due to reappear at Liverpool Local Court tomorrow.
