Third Suspect Charged in Mt Druitt Murder

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man for his alleged role in the murder of Zac McRae in August 2025.

Just after 10pm on Wednesday 27 August 2025, emergency services were called to a bus interchange on North Parade in Mount Druitt.

On arrival, officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command located two men – both aged 19 – suffering from stab wounds.

One of the men sustained stab wounds to his chest and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene; however, he could not be revived.

He has since been identified as Zac McRae.

The other man sustained stab wounds to his arm and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition. He has since been released.

A crime scene was established by local police before the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Homicide Squad under Strike Force Coberta to investigate.

Following extensive inquiries, a 19-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man were charged for their alleged roles in the murder and remain before the courts.

As part of their ongoing investigation, about 11.50am yesterday (Wednesday 21 January 2026), strike force detectives – with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad - arrested a 19-year-old man in Blacktown.

He was taken to Blacktown Police station and charged with murder, cause wounding / grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder, robbery in company cause wounding grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s) and assault person intend criminal activity of criminal group.

The 19-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Thursday 22 January 2026).

Investigations under Strike Force Coberta are ongoing.
