Thirteen charged following drug trafficking investigation in north west suburbs

Police have charged 13 people after executing a series of warrants in the north west suburbs of Melbourne this morning as part of a major investigation into drug trafficking, Victoria Police say.

Detectives from the Drug Task Force and other Crime Command units executed the warrants with the assistance of the Special Operations Group from 3am.

Operation Ezekiel is a 12-month investigation into the distribution and trafficking of methamphetamines, with alleged links to organised crime groups.

Police allegedly seized a range of drugs including ICE, cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy and steroids along with firearms, ammunition, cash, a stolen motorcycle and other stolen property such as jewellery.

• A 36-year-old Sydenham man – Possess DOD, possess ammunition, handle stolen goods, charged and bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 8 October 2018

• A 29-year-old Taylors Hill man – Traffick commercial quantity MDMA, traffick cannabis, possess handgun, possess long arm and possess proceeds of crime, remand application pending

• A 58-year-old Sydenham man – Traffick large commercial quantity DOD, two charges of prohibited person possess firearm, possess proceeds of crime, remand application pending

• A 57-year-old Keilor Downs man – Possess DOD, charged and bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 10 November 2018

• A 37-year-old Coburg man – Traffick DOD & handle stolen goods, charged and bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 10 October 2018

• A 27-year-old Port Melbourne man – Traffick commercial quantity DOD & possess proceeds of crime, remand application pending

• A 31-year-old Keilor East man – Traffick DOD, charged and bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 10 October 2018

• A 26-year-old Airport West man – Possess DOD, possess proceeds of crime, charged and bailed to Melbourne Magistrates’ Court 10 October 2018

• A 47-year-old Pascoe Vale man -Traffick commercial quantity DOD, possess DOD, two counts commit indictable offence on bail, remand application pending.
