Thompson Reserve access upgrade underway

A new main vehicle access driveway and carpark is currently under construction at Thompson Reserve in Inverloch.

This Bass Coast Shire Council project is expected to take up to four weeks to complete.

This $120,000 project, which represents Council's ongoing commitment to improving local sporting and recreation facilities, is identified in the adopted Thompson Reserve Master Plan.

Throughout community engagement to develop the Master Plan, user groups fully supported the new entry/exit point to the Reserve.

The new vehicle access driveway, off Cuttriss Street, aims to improve road safety and will enable the delivery of a new cricket and multi-purpose training facility at the Reserve in the future. A new carpark area will also be constructed, with better connections to existing infrastructure, including the BMX Track.

Appropriate traffic and pedestrian control measures will be implemented onsite during the works. The contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions to road users, residents and businesses during these works and Council appreciates your patience during these times.
