Three arrested after cannabis raids in southern suburbs, SA

Three people have been arrested after searches in the southern suburbs uncovered cannabis plants and hydroponic equipment, according to SA Police.

Just after 7am today, police from the South Coast Local Service Area searched two houses at Moana and Seaford, uncovering a total of 18 cannabis plants, 18 cannabis seedlings plants, along with a large amount of electrical ballast boxes, lights and filters.

Police will futher allege at the Moana property electricity was being diverted illegally to help grow the cannabis plants, and had to be disconnected by technicians due to dangerous wiring.

A 30-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, both of Moana, were charged with cultivating cannabis and theft of electricity. A 23-year-old Seaford man was charged with cultivating cannabis. All three people were bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 29 August.
