Three Arrested After Merrylands Public Place Shooting

Three people have been arrested following a public place shooting in Merrylands today.

About 9.20am today (Thursday 12 June 2025), officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were called to Earl Street in Merrylands following reports of a shooting.

No one was home at the time and there were no reports of injuries.

A short time later, a burnt-out Porsche was located in Beverley Crescent in Chester Hill.

The group left Chester Hill in a Hyundai, before being arrested on McMahon Road in Yagoona trying to flee from police on foot.

They remain in police custody.

Crime scenes were established at both locations, which will be forensically examined by specialist police.

The matter was referred to Taskforce Falcon who have commenced an investigation.

Taskforce Falcon is led by State Crime Command, with the NSW Crime Commission, to investigate and suppress violent crime in the Sydney metropolitan area.
