Three arrested following police collision at Bacchus Marsh

Police attempted to intercept an allegedly stolen vehicle at a fast food restaurant on Gisborne Road in Bacchus Marsh yesterday afternoon at 5pm.., Victoria Police say

The vehicle allegedly struck the police car, causing damage.

A man and a woman, both passengers in the vehicle, were arrested at the scene, while one managed to flee the scene on foot.

Later tonight, a white Toyota Utility with stolen plates was observed on the Surf Coast Highway in Mt Duneed about 1.25am.

Police activated their lights and sirens but the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

A short time later, the vehicle was blocked into a dead end on Hopwood Place and it allegedly rammed a divisional van.

The male driver was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody.

He has been transported to hospital for observation and remains under police guard.

Police are investigating whether the man was involved in the Bacchus Marsh incident.

No police members were injured as a result of the collisions.

A 19-year-old Bacchus Marsh woman has been remanded to appear at the Ballarat Magistrate’s Court this morning charged with theft of motor car.

A 23-year-old Bacchus Marsh man has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and bailed to appear at the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
