Three arrested following Sunshine stabbing

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested three girls after a man was allegedly stabbed in Sunshine last week, Victoria Police say.

Protective Services Officers initially saw the 38-year-old man covered in blood at the Sunshine Railway Station about 9.45pm on 8 December.

The Sunshine man sustained non-life threatening head injuries and stab wounds and was taken to hospital.

Investigators believed the man was assaulted at the corner of Harvester and Devonshire roads.

Detectives have since arrested three teenage girls after a number of warrants were executed.

A 14-year-old Braybrook girl and 17-year-old Albion girl have been charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault and assault with a weapon.

A 14-year-old Sunshine girl has been charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault, assault with a weapon and assault by kicking.

The trio have been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
