Three charged after kidnapping, assault and robbery in Minto

Police have charged three men after they allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and robbed a man in Minto earlier this year, NSW Police say.

About 1am on Saturday 19 March 2016, a 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were walking on Pembroke Road, when they accepted a lift in a motor vehicle driven by a 28-year-old man. There was also two other men in the car – aged 32 and 28.

Police will allege one of the 28-year-old men assaulted the 27-year-old man, before he was pushed from the vehicle and his bag was stolen.

The woman was released from the car uninjured and she rendered assistance to the injured man.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital with serious head injuries, a broken hand, ankle and shoulder. He remains in rehabilitation.

Detectives from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command established Strike Force Boer to investigate the incident.

Following inquiries, a 32-year-old man was arrested at a hotel on Appin Road, Appin and two 28-year-old men were arrested at homes in Airds and Macquarie Fields.

The trio were taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station and charged with special aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery in company cause grievous bodily harm.

They were refused bail to face Campbelltown Local Court tomorrow.
