Three charged after police injured, NSW

Two men and a woman have been charged after allegedly assaulting two police officers during an arrest in Albion Park yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 7.50pm yesterday, officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended a home in Hillside Drive, Albion Park, following inquiries into an alleged aggravated break and enter.

Officers attended and attempted to arrest a 30-year-old man. Police will allege a physical struggle ensued and police employed the use of a Taser to subdue the man.

A 44-year-old man and 44-year-old woman at the home were also arrested after they tried to intervene.

Two officers sustained minor injuries that did not require treatment.

The woman and both men were arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

The 30-year-old man was charged with aggravated break and enter causing actual bodily harm, contravening an Apprehended Violence Order, assault, malicious damage and resisting arrest.

He was refused bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court today.

The 44-year-old man was charged with two counts of assaulting police.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 27 June 2017.

The 44-year-old woman was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for hindering police.

She is to appear before Albion Park Local Court on Thursday 10 August 2017.
