Three charged after stolen car pursuit in Waterloo

Two men and a woman have been charged after a pursuit with a stolen car at Waterloo on Friday, NSW Police say.

About 4.50pm (Friday 23 November 2018), officers from Botany Bay Highway Patrol were patrolling Lachlan Street, Waterloo, when they detected a stolen BMW.

They attempted to stop the car however it failed to pull over and a pursuit was commenced which ended in Cope Street, Waterloo, after the vehicle crashed into a small tree.

The four occupants of the car, two men aged 24 and 25, and two women, aged 26 and 29, all ran from the vehicle but were arrested a short time later.

They were all taken to Redfern Police Station.

The 24-year-old man, from Wiley Park, who was allegedly driving the car, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for examination before being taken back into police custody and charged with breach of bail, destroy or damage property (x3), steal from person, aggravated steal from dwelling, take and drive conveyance, police pursuit, possess prohibited drug, goods in custody, and unlicenced driving.

A 25-year-old man from Redfern was charged with being carried in conveyance, possess prohibited drug, and breach AVO.

A 29-year-old woman from Marrickville was charged with being carried in conveyance, as well as reckless wounding relating to an unrelated matter.

All three appeared at Central Local Court yesterday (Saturday 24 November 2018), where they were refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Tuesday (27 November 2018).

The 26-year-old woman was released without charge, pending further inquiries.
