Three charged following break and enter and firearms located in Griffith

Two men have been charged following a break and enter in Griffith earlier this week, meanwhile another man has been charged after firearms were located in a vehicle, NSW Police say.

About 10pm on Monday 26 February 2018, it is alleged two men broke into a supermarket on Driver Boulevarde. A small amount of alcohol was allegedly stolen from the premises.

The incident was reported to officers at Griffith Police Station and an investigation was launched.

About 5pm yesterday (Tuesday 27 February 2018), a member of the public reported seeing two men, believed to be involved in the incident, entering a property at Clifton Boulevard.

Police attended, searched the premises and located a vehicle at the property.

Three firearms were allegedly found in the vehicle and seized by police.

Officers spoke with one man who was later arrested, while two other men were seen fleeing from the premises.

One of the men was detained a short distance away by police and arrested.

Another man was detained a short distance away by members of the public. He was then arrested by police.

All three men were taken to Griffith Police Station.

A 23-year-old man was charged with hinder police, possess unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm and not keep firearm safe.

A 27-year-old man and another 23-year-old man were charged with aggravated break, enter and steal.

All three men were refused bail and will appear at Griffith Local Court today (Wednesday 28 February 2018).
