Three Charged in Break-Ins, Car Fire, Shooting Plot

Two teens and a man have been charged by Strike Force Sweetenham detectives after an alleged aggravated break and enter, vehicle fire and conspiracy to discharge firearm plot in Sydney's north and south west.

In March 2026, Strike Force Sweetenham commenced an investigation after an alleged aggravated break and enter and a vehicle fire across Sydney's North West and South West areas.

Just after 1.40am on Monday 2 March 2026, emergency services were called to a home on Eldridge Road, Greystanes, following reports of an alleged break and enter.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were told three unknown people one armed with a firearm attempted to force an entry into a house; however, were unsuccessful and all left the scene in a car.

There were no injuries reported.

A crime scene has been established, and detectives have commenced an investigation into the incident.

On 26 March 2026, emergency services were called to Talana Hill Drive, in Edmondson Park, after reports of a car fire.

The fire was extinguished, and the vehicle was seized for forensic examination.

Officers attached to Strike Force Sweetenham commenced an investigation into the incidents.

Following extensive inquiries, around 7.15am today (Friday 15 May 2026), investigators executed two separate search warrants at homes in Liverpool and Lurnea.

During the searches, officers allegedly located and seized a tracking device, a suspected DECCD, electronics and other items.

A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were arrested at the homes and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

The younger boy was charged with accessory before destroy property in company use fire etc over $5000 and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

The older man was charged with,

- Conspiracy to discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm,

- Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity,

- Be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner,

- Possess loaded firearm public place, and

- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm.

About 11.40am, another 15-year-old boy was arrested at Penrith Police Station where he was charged with,

- Specially aggravated break and enter,

- Attempt discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm,

- conspiracy to discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm,

- Destroy etc property in company use fire etc over $5000,

- Participate criminal group contribute criminal activity,

- Possess loaded firearm public place, and

- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm.

The two boys and the man were refused bail to appear before children's court and Liverpool local court today (Friday 15 May 2026).

Police will also allege the 15-year-old boy and 19-year-old man were involved in an alleged conspiracy to shoot a man at a gym in Rouse Hill.
