Three charged in drug investigation in Taree

Three people have been charged following an ongoing investigation into drug supply in the Taree area, NSW Police say.

Detectives attached to the Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command arrested a 31-year-old for allegedly selling a prohibited drug, believed to be methylamphetamine, in a car park in Mills Close, Taree, yesterday.

Police subsequently executed three search warrants in Taree; at a home on Lansdowne Road, a storage shed in Muldoon Street and a home in Gwenneth Avenue.

A 41-year-old man was arrested at the Gwenneth Avenue property and a 31-year-old woman was arrested at the Lansdowne Road property.

All three were taken to Taree Police Station where they were charged.

The 31-year-old man was charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, dealing in proceeds of crime, eight counts of supplying a prohibited drug and two counts of ongoing supply of a prohibited drug,

The 31-year-old woman and 41-year-old man were both charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug and dealing in the proceeds of crime.

All three were refused bail to appear before Forster Local Court today.

Investigations continue.
