Three people have been charged following an alleged road rage incident in the Monaro region, last month.
About 4.30pm on Sunday 19 April 2026, police responded to the intersection of Edwin Land Parkway and Stringybark Drive, Jerrabomberra, about 6km south-east of Queanbeyan, following reports of an alleged road rage incident.
Officers attached to Monaro Police District were told a man was allegedly armed with a plank of wood and threatened people inside a blue Volkswagen Golf.
Police will allege in court a 46-year-old female driver, known to the man, was allegedly verbally abused by two people inside the Volkswagen Golf, earlier that day.
Officers responded to the scene, however no one was there.
A short time later, officers attended a home in Jerrabomberra and spoke to a 42-year-old man.
Following inquiries, on Wednesday 22 April 2026, a 20-year-old male and 15-year-old female attended Queanbeyan Police Station.
He was charged with drive motor vehicle menaces another with intent.
She was charged with two counts of behave in an offensive manner in/near public place.
They were granted conditional to appear in Queanbeyan Local Court and a children's court on Monday 15 June 2026.
Following further inquiries, about 4.30pm on Tuesday 19 May 2026, the 42-year-old man attended Queanbeyan Police Station.
He was issued with a court attendance notice for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and have custody of an offensive implement in a public place, to appear in Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday 6 July 2026.
