Three people have been charged, after an off-duty police officer and a member of the public detained two people at Wee Waa, NSW Police say.
About 1am on Tuesday 9 October 2018, officers from Oxley Police District received reports of an alleged break and enter occurring at Rose Street, Wee Waa.
An off-duty police officer was notified by a member of the public who had witnessed the incident, and the pair attended the property.
A man and a woman were located and held by the off-duty police officer until further police arrived. Another man was seen fleeing the area.
A 26-year-old man and 16-year-old girl were arrested by police and conveyed to Moree Police Station.
The man was charged with aggravated break, enter & steal, and appeared before Moree Local Court yesterday (9 September 2018). He was refused bail to reappear on Monday 26 November 2018.
The girl was charged with aggravated break, enter & steal, and appeared before a children’s court yesterday. She was refused bail to reappear at a children’s court today (10 October 2018).
About midday, police arrested the third man at a separate address at Mitchell Street, Wee Waa. He was charged with aggravated break, enter & steal, and was refused bail to appear at Moree Local Court today (10 October 2018).
The off-duty police officer and member of the public were uninjured, and are to be commended by senior officers for their assistance with the incident.
