Three firearms, pill press machine and 1000 ecstasy tablets seized in Broadmeadow

Police have seized three firearms, a pill press machine and drugs including more than 1000 ecstasy tablets at Newcastle today, NSW Police say.

Just after 9am today, officers from Newcastle Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home on Teralba Road, Broadmeadow.

During the search, police located and seized three firearms, methylamphetamine, 1000 ecstasy tablets and what is believed to be a pill press machine.

A hydroponic set up was also located in the garage of the home with 41 cannabis plants seized.

A 44-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Waratah Police Station.

He was charged with the commercial supply of a prohibited drug (ecstasy), the large commercial supply of a prohibited drug (ICE), the manufacture a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, cannabis cultivation, and a number of firearms offences.

The man was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court tomorrow.
