Between 7:30pm and 10:00pm on Wednesday, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service responded to three separate house fires in Devonport. All houses were unoccupied at the time, and no one was injured.
The cause of the fires is subject to an investigation by the Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police. Early investigations suggest they were deliberately lit, and further information will be available once Fire Scene Examiners complete their investigation.
Total damage for the three fires is estimated at approximately $500,000.00.
Police would like anyone with information, or who may have seen any person(s) running from the site of the fires to please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Devonport Police Station on 131444.
