Three injured after crash - Mount Druitt

A woman is in a serious condition, and two others injured, following a crash and earlier pursuit in Mount Druitt overnight.

Just before 12.20am today (Sunday 20 September 2020), officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command attempted to stop a white Hyundai i30 on Callala Street, Mount Druitt, after it was observed travelling without lights.

As police approached the vehicle, the driver allegedly sped from the scene and a pursuit was initiated, however, it was terminated due to safety concerns.

Shortly after, the vehicle was located crashed on Carlisle Avenue, Mount Druitt, after colliding with a red Nissan Qashqai.

The driver of the Hyundai, a woman aged 22, was trapped in the vehicle before being released by Fire and Rescue NSW.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and then taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

The occupants of the Nissan, a 51-year-old female driver and a 50-year-old male passenger, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command have established a crime scene with the Crash Investigation Unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
