A woman with critical injuries was one of three people hurt after a head on collision near Scone this morning, NSW Police say.
Around 7.30am tomorrow, a Hyundai and a Mercedes travelling in opposite directions on the New England Highway, approximately 10 kilometres north of Scone, collided.
The female drivers of both cars were trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by emergency services personnel.
The female driver of the Hyundai was taken to hospital in a critical condition. A five-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the car, sustained serious injuries.
The female driver and sole occupant of the Mercedes was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Inquiries into the events leading up to the crash are continuing.
