Three Men Charged Over Greenacre Attempted Robbery: NSW Police

A man will appear in court today - one of three people charged - after allegedly attempting to rob a man in Greenacre earlier this year.

About 10.20pm on Monday 15 May 2023, Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended Valencia Street, Greenacre, following reports a 40-year-old man had allegedly been threatened with a firearm by three men, demanding money.

The man fled, after which the group of men were seen leaving in a vehicle.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquires, investigators with assistance from officers attached to the State Crime Command's Raptor Squad executed search warrants at a Merrylands home in May, a Greenacre home on Wednesday (2 August 2023) and a Girraween home yesterday (Friday 4 August 2023).

A number of items, including mobile phones, were seized for examination.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at Greenacre and a 39-year-old man at Girraween. They were charged with demand with menaces intend obtain or cause loss.

They both appeared at Parramatta Local Court this week and were granted conditional bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Thursday 24 August 2023.

A 31-year-old Merrylands man was arrested at Granville Police Station yesterday (Friday 4 August 2023) and also charged with demand with menaces intend obtain or cause loss.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 5 August 2023).
