Three men injured in Wivenhoe incident, TAS

Burnie CIB is investigating an incident at Wivenhoe last night where three men received stab wounds following an altercation at the Burnie Dog’s Home, Tasmania Police say.

Police were called to a report of a wounding at the Dogs Home in Stowport Road about 10.30pm last night.

Police allege three men attempted to remove a dog from the premises when they were interrupted by a caretaker.

As a result of an altercation, two of the intruders received serious stab wounds. One has since been transferred to the Royal Hobart Hospital and the other remains in the North West Regional Hospital – both with serious injuries.

The caretaker suffered minor injuries and the third intruder was unharmed.

Police are continuing their investigations and will speak to the two seriously injured men in the coming days once they are able to do so.
