he Secretary of the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE), Tim Baker, has notified me of his intention to resign to take up the position of CEO with the Gold Coast Council.
Since being appointed as Secretary in June last year, Mr Baker has done a great job leading DPIPWE through the challenges of COVID-19, in particular being responsible for maintaining our strong border controls and biosecurity arrangements.
His extensive experience in senior roles in Tasmania will be missed and on behalf of the Tasmanian Government, I congratulate him on his new role and wish him well for the future.
Mr Baker will commence his new role on 1 February 2022, and the Government will now commence a recruitment process for his replacement.
