Time for Rebecca White to show some leadership

Labor’s recent behaviour highlights a glaring deficiency in Rebecca White’s leadership and judgment.

It is well past time for Rebecca White to step up and immediately cease Labor’s baseless and shameless attacks on a most respected Tasmanian, Mr Damian Bugg QC.

Mr Bugg has said publicly that no restrictions were placed on his investigation and that he found it unnecessary to request further time or information to reach his findings which have been published.

On this issue alone, Rebecca White and her Labor colleagues have once again demonstrated a total lack of substance and very poor judgement.

Further, it is time Labor stopped using the Integrity Commission as a political gimmick.

The Integrity Commission’s Commissioner has only recently said; "It is of great concern that public statements have been made by Members of Parliament about possible or actual complaints to the Integrity Commission" and "needless and unwarranted reputational damage often accompanies such statements".

Why then is Rebecca White continuing to sanction this appalling behaviour?

This is a key test for Rebecca White who should stop letting her colleagues run loose, and stop Labor saying anything about anyone to score cheap political points.
