Time is running out on Water Inquiry submissions

Liberal Party Victoria

Time is running out for people impacted by the October 2022 floods to make a submission to the Legislative Council's Environment and Planning Committee's inquiry into the flood event.

All Victorians who have been affected by the floods are encouraged to make a submission, as the more submissions the Committee receives, will ensure a fair and accurate review of the flood event, including shortfalls by Government and Government Agencies.

Victorians from Melbourne are encouraged to share their experiences from planning decisions, resourcing of the SES, to levy banks, amongst other things.

Shadow Minister for Water, Tim McCurdy, said that the Government needed to hear the truth about the October floods.

"The Government has tried to set up their own inquiries into various failings with their own handpicked experts," Mr McCurdy said.

"This is not good enough. They need to hear from real Victorians with real experiences of the floods."

"The more submissions received guarantees a more accurate picture of Victoria's flood preparedness and response and will highlight any shortfalls that need addressing."

"With time running out, I encourage anyone to put a submission in – whether it is a paragraph or a detailed analysis – every opinion counts."
