Tips for reducing, reusing and recycling this National Recycling Week

This week is National Recycling Week. Celebrated annually from 7 to 14 November, the campaign aims to educate and empower people to recycle correctly and rethink waste more broadly.

Everyone has an important role to play in reducing waste to landfill. Here are some tips to help you reduce, reuse and recycle:

  • Before buying something new, consider whether you could borrow or rent the items instead.
  • You can sell, share, swap or donate unwanted items to stop them going to landfill.
  • Remember to bring your reusable bags, coffee cups, water bottles and cutlery when heading out.
  • Always place loose recyclables in your yellow-lidded recycling bin. You can find out what can and can't go in your bins on our How to use your bins page.
