Mansfield Highway Patrol officers were left bewildered by a high-speed titanic impersonator in Merrijig this week.
Police were conducting speed detection checks along Mount Buller Road when a Jeep was observed with a woman standing with her upper body outside the vehicle's sunroof.
Her arms were spread wide in the air as the Jeep was travelling at 100km/h.
Although the Titanic references immediately came to mind, police couldn't hear a cry of "I'm the King of The World" and instead believe the passenger likely had some other words when she realised she had done this past a fully marked police car.
Near, far, wherever you are… police are out and about on the roads.
The vehicle was intercepted and officers were quick to draw up some fines like one of those French girls.
The passenger was slapped with nearly $600 in fines, while the driver also copped $600 worth of fines and three demerit points for allowing such a stunt to take place.
Everyone knows how things ended for Jack Dawson and all jokes aside, this had potential to end just as badly.
Police remind those coming to enjoy the snow at Mount Buller to please be careful on our roads and not engage in unnecessary risks.
