Toddler dies after being hit by car at Blacktown

A toddler has died after being hit by a car in Blacktown last night.

Just before 7.30pm (Tuesday 20 October 2020), emergency services responded to reports a car struck a child in the driveway of a townhouse complex in Kent Street.

Police from Blacktown Local Area Command attended and found a one-year-old girl in a critical condition.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Westmead Children's Hospital where she died.

The driver of the car, a 40-year-old man, was treated at the scene by paramedics for shock, before being taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
