Toddler dies after being hit by car in driveway at Taree

A toddler has died after being hit by a car in the driveway of a home at Taree overnight.

Emergency services were called to a home at Taree, about 5pm yesterday (Tuesday 22 October 2019), following reports a 20-month-old girl had been struck by a Holden Rodeo utility.

The toddler was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Manning Rural Referral Hospital where she later died.

The male driver, a 24-year-old man, has been taken to hospital for blood and urine testing.

Officers from Manning/Great Lakes Police District established a crime scene and commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
