Officer Cadet Bennett Scott from Calgary, Alberta and university student at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC), won first place of their team at the SIG Relentless Warrior Championship in Epping, N.H. on Saturday April 9, 2022.
Fifteen RMC cadets competed against others students from the U.S. Army, Air Force, Naval, and Coast Guard academies in this high-level shooting skills event.
For the first time in two years, the RMC Combat Weapons Team held selections to represent RMC during domestic and international competitions. Rising at 3 a.m., candidates participated in a grueling selection process late last year consisting of a ruck march, weapons handling, leadership reaction challenges, an interview, and range activities. Fifteen made the cut.
After taking a hiatus due to COVID-19, the team was looking forward to mentoring and training their new members and competing once again.
Over their four years of fully subsidized, high-quality military university education, RMC undergrad students invest hundreds of hours in military training, all aimed at honing the skills needed in their future careers as leaders in the Canadian Armed Forces.
