Following community feedback about recent traffic flow changes, City of Ryde is introducing additional measures to improve driver awareness and traffic flow as essential upgrade works continue on Constitution Road, Meadowbank.
The temporary traffic changes are expected to remain in place for approximately 12 months to allow the works to be completed safely and efficiently.
Council thanks residents, motorists and local businesses for their patience and understanding during this period. Road users are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and exercise courtesy and care when travelling through the area.
To help minimise disruption, Council is also intending to write to the NSW Government requesting optimal traffic light synchronisation in the surrounding road network. Council staff have also been directed to install additional signage to improve driver awareness and support traffic flow around the changed conditions.
Over the coming two weeks, Council will progressively install additional signage near the intersection, including:
- WRONG WAY signage at both Constitution Road approaches;
- Duplication of the NO RIGHT TURN and NO LEFT TURN signs at both Bowden Street approaches;
- ROAD CLOSED AHEAD signs at both Constitution Road approaches; and
- SIDE ROAD CLOSED signs at both Bowden Street approaches.
Council will continue to monitor traffic conditions throughout the project and provide updates to the community as works progress.
