Traffic crash appeal, Capalaba

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 23-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in a traffic crash at Capalaba on Thursday, January 25.

Emergency services were called to Redland Bay Road at approximately 12.30am following reports a woman had been struck by a utility.

Upon police arrival, the 23-year-old South Brisbane woman was located with serious head injuries.

She was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver, a 37-year-old Thornlands man, was not physically injured.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, also involving a silver 2016 Mitsubishi Triton, to come forward.

Nearby residents are urged to review their CCTV, and motorists with dashcam vision who may have been in the area at the time of the incident are also urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
