Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A man has been arrested after drugs and cash were located at a routine traffic stop at Bolivar.

About 6.45pm on Tuesday 18 July Officers from Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Unit stopped a car on Port Wakefield Road. Checks revealed the driver was disqualified from driving.

Police searched the car and located $190000.00 case and approximately 1kg of methamphetamine. Two other premises were searched cash, drugs and paraphernalia were located.

A 36-year-old man from Two Wells was arrested and charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, money laundering and driving disqualified.

The man did not apply for bail and is expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
