Are you looking for a career change? Maybe you're returning to the workforce and need a foot in the door?
Mornington Peninsula Shire's Traineeship Program has opened applications for the 2026 program. Hurry though, this opportunity closes on 9 November 2025.
Returning for the third year, this program provides six individuals the chance to grow professionally and personally through a 12-month paid traineeship, all whilst supporting the local community.
The Traineeship Program provides flexible employment and training opportunities for people wanting to build a career. The program is aimed at attracting:
- School leavers
- Adults re-entering the workforce, reskilling, or seeking a fresh start.
To be eligible, you will need to be 18+, have the right to work in Australia and not already hold a Certificate IV (or higher) in Business or a similar field.
Trainees will work with the Shire while completing a Certificate IV in Business - a nationally recognised qualification delivered by a Registered Training Organisation.

Applications are now open, closing strictly on 9 November 2025.
Quotes attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:
"Our Traineeship Program receives a high amount of interest each year. So take this as your reminder to not let this opportunity pass you by. If you know someone who would be a perfect candidate, please let them know. Let's build a stronger Mornington Peninsula - one trainee at a time."
