Transport Minister welcomes Virgin Australia's new CEO

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey has welcomed the appointment of Paul Scurrah as the new CEO of Virgin Australia.

"Virgin Australia plays an important role in Queensland's economy, with its headquarters and international crew hub based in Brisbane, and flights connecting communities everyday right across the state," Mr Bailey said.

"Paul has been a leader in the transport, logistics and aviation industries for more than two decades, with much of that experience right here in Queensland through Aurizon, Queensland Rail and Tourism Queensland.

"Paul raised his family in Queensland, and has been a leader in the Queensland transport system and supply chain, so he understands our state well. This appointment is good news for our sunshine state.

"I congratulate Paul on his appointment and look forward to working with him to deliver for Queenslanders."
