Traralgon woman charged with fraudulent relief payment applications

Police have charged a Traralgon woman following an extensive

investigation into multiple payments allegedly received from the

Bushfire Relief Fund and the Gippsland Flood Relief Payment Scheme.

A

30-year-old woman allegedly made fraudulent applications using a

variety of names and addresses in January, June, and July, receiving a

total amount of $14,700.

The woman has been

charged with nine counts of obtain property by deception, and three

counts of attempt to obtain property by deception.

She has been bailed to appear at the Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court on 9 March.

Victoria Police worked in collaboration with Department of Families, Fairness and Housing as part of the investigation.
