TRC partners with Land for Wildlife

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has partnered with Land for Wildlife South East Queensland to relaunch the local Land for Wildlife (LFW) program.

TRC Parks and Recreation Services portfolio leader Cr Tim McMahon said the collaboration was welcome news to residents who previously enjoyed the benefits of the membership.

"Previous Land for Wildlife members have voiced the need for the program to be reinstated, so we're pleased to step in and manage it from now," Cr McMahon said.

"TRC is joining LFWSEQ as an affiliate council, so we will be funding and overseeing the local LFW program with an external provider engaged to conduct property assessments, site visits and workshops.

"The local LFW program was most recently managed by Southern Queensland Landscapes, but it has been some years since landowners could receive private property protection support through the Land for Wildlife program.
