TRC Plans Westbrook, Pittsworth Walking Paths

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is putting its best foot forward with planning progressing for walking paths to improve connectivity in Westbrook and Pittsworth.

Council was successful in obtaining a Walking Local Government Grant (50% funding) from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) for the development of the two Walking Network Plans.

TRC Transport and Drainage Planning portfolio spokesperson Cr Trevor Manteufel said the plans were a great first step towards improving the connectivity, accessibility and sign legibility of walking routes in each location.

"Each Walking Network Plan was developed by active transport specialists, in consultation with local community, advisory and interest groups," Cr Manteufel said.

"A series of community workshops and pop-up engagement activities, as well as walking route audits, will be conducted for each location to ensure each of the walking networks suits the needs of the local community now and in the future.
