TRC Progresses Middle Ridge Former Nursery Site Sale

Toowoomba Region Sports Precinct

Toowoomba Regional Council has progressed the two-stage sale process for its former nursery site at Middle Ridge.

TRC Economic Development portfolio spokesperson Cr Edwina Farquhar said Council had invited three developers to submit formal tenders following an initial expression of interest phase.

"The first stage of the sale process is now complete, and three developers have been invited by Council to submit formal tenders for the site which will close in mid-September.

"We were confident the site would attract significant interest and that's exactly what has occurred.

""Council is seeking a low to medium density residential outcome that delivers dynamic, good-quality living opportunities and supports a well-designed neighbourhood feel. This approach will help diversify our city and Region's housing stock to meet a range of accommodation needs, from families to singles and everyone in between," Cr Farquhar said.

"Council's process has allowed developers and investors an opportunity to submit offers together with a concept plan for the site.

"Council will then evaluate those offers based on more than price alone.

"Council's divestment approach ensures transparency while giving us the ability to negotiate terms such as development commitments, timeframes for key milestones and settlement periods," she said.

"We are keen to see a more beneficial use of this site in a highly desirable part of the city."

Council resolved in March 2025 to start the sale process for the site.
