Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) today (July 15, 2025) endorsed updated Terms of Reference for the Region's Australia Day Coordinating Working Group and the respective Australia Day Local Working Groups across regional communities.
TRC Australia Day Coordinating Working Group chair Cr James O'Shea said the move was designed to clarify roles and responsibilities for volunteer community members on the Region's Australia Day Local Working Groups.
Cr O'Shea said a comprehensive review of the Terms of Reference was undertaken to clarify the objectives, function and expectation for the delivery of civic Australia Day events across the Region.
"The revised Terms of Reference apply to the overarching Coordinating Group and the individual Local Working Groups," Cr O'Shea said.
"Council is appreciative of the commitment and passion shown by our community members who volunteer and contribute to each Local Working Group to organise community activities for our civic Australia Day commemorations each year.
