City of Casey is inviting local businesses to cut their waste disposal costs by taking part in the free Trim Your Bin program, now in its third year.
Waste disposal is a significant and growing expense for many businesses. For example, a typical small to medium café in Victoria spends approximately $3,000 to $7,000 per year on waste disposal.
The Trim Your Bin program matches participating businesses with an expert who undertakes a comprehensive onsite waste assessment, followed by a tailored action plan focused on cost‑effective ways to save costs and reduce waste.
Ongoing expert advice and follow‑up support helps businesses put the changes into practice for the long term.
Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said, "Waste disposal costs can add up faster than many business owners realise. This program makes waste reduction simple, practical and achievable. It helps businesses look at their waste differently, find smarter places for materials to go and reduce the amount sent to landfill.
The best part is that it's completely free." said Cr Koomen.
The program is open to all registered businesses in Casey, regardless of size or industry. From cafés and childcare centres to offices and community organisations, any business that generates waste can benefit.
Places are limited. Businesses are encouraged to register their interest before expressions of interest close on 1 April 2026.
