Trio arrested after dumping car in Glen Waverley

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives along with the Dog Squad arrested two men and a woman after they sped off from police and dumped a car in Glen Waverley this morning.

Detectives attempted to intercept the car with three people on board in Ferntree Gully Road before the car speed off from police about 1.20am.

The Ford sedan, bearing stolen plates, was found by the same detectives dumped and abandoned in Mount Street shortly after.

One of the men from the car was found by detectives allegedly trying to break into an unoccupied home before police dog Kullu and his handler tracked down another man and a woman also hiding in the yard.

A quantity of white powder and liquid believed to be GHB was seized by police.

A 50-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, who were assisting police with their enquiries, have been released and are expected to be charged on summons in relation to drug related offences and handling stolen goods.

A 46-year-old man will be charged with drug and traffic related offences and breaching a community corrections order.

He will be directly presented to Ringwood Magistrates' Court today.
