Trio arrested after Rowville burglaries

Detectives from Knox and Monash crime investigation units have charged three teenagers after several alleged burglaries where vehicles were stolen.

It's alleged a Holden utility was stolen during an aggravated burglary in Rowville overnight and used to steal petrol from a service station on Doncaster Road about 4am.

The alleged offenders crashed the Holden in Surrey Hills before fleeing in another stolen Nissan Pulsar.

The Pulsar was seen at two attempted theft of motor vehicles at 6am in Glen Waverly and two burglaries just before 7am in Mount Waverly.

Detectives were able to track down the alleged offenders walking on a street in Ashburton just before 10am where three teenagers were arrested at the scene.

It's alleged the Pulsar was stolen from a Glen Iris home on 10 November.

A 17-year-old Ashburton boy has been charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of burglary and two counts of theft of motor vehicle.

He has been bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 17-year-old Surrey Hills boy has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

He has been bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 17-year-old Ferntree Gully boy was taken to hospital under police guard and is assisting police with their enquiries.
