Melton police have arrested three youths following an armed robbery at Melton this evening, Victoria Police say.
It’s understood a 9-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy, both from Melton, were at a park on Reserve Road when they were approached by three other youths about 5.45pm.
It’s alleged one of the three youths produced an edged weapon and made demands for the 11-year-old’s mobile phone before all three assaulted him and took the phone.
An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police arrested a 14-year-old boy, 11-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, all from Melton, a short time later.
They are currently assisting investigators with their enquiries.
Police also recovered the mobile phone.
