Trio charged following theft and deceptions - Mornington

Mornington Peninsula Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three youths following an alleged theft and series of deceptions, Victoria Police say.

It is alleged the trio were involved in the theft of a car on 21 August, which was subsequently used to evade police.

A bank card within the vehicle was also allegedly used in a number of deceptions across the Mornington area.

The three boys were arrested yesterday.

A 16-year-old boy from Mornington was charged with theft of motor vehicle, two counts of obtain property by deception and drug-related offences.

He was remanded to appear at a children’s court.

A 15-year-old Mornington boy was charged with theft of motor vehicle, commit an indictable offence while on bail and drug-related offences and bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 15-year-old Hastings boy was charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit an indictable offence while on bail and has been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
