Trio charged over stabbing of store attendant in Chippendale

Three men have been charged after a store attendant was stabbed during an attempted armed robbery at Chippendale last year, NSW Police say.

About 9.45pm on Saturday 19 December 2015, a man entered the convenience store on Buckland Street armed with a knife and with his face concealed.

The man confronted the attendant, a 35-year-old man, before threatening him with the knife and demanding money.

The attendant struggled with the man before he was stabbed in the shoulder.

Emergency services were alerted and he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from Redfern Local Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident.

About 2.00pm yesterday, two men attended Redfern Police Station and spoke to detectives.

Search warrants were executed at addresses, in Glebe and Leichardt with items seized.

About 12.30am today, a third man attended Redfern Police Station.

A 23-year-old man was charged with accessory after the fact to armed robbery and was granted conditional bail to appear before Downing Local Court on Monday 16th May 2016.

A 26-year-old man was charged with accessory after the fact to armed robbery and was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today.

A 25-year-old man was charged with robbery with wounding and armed robbery. He was refused bail to appear at Central local Court today (Friday 22 April 2016
