Tru Blu Oil applies for licence

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) will consider an application from a chemical container washing facility for a licence to operate.

Tru-Blu Oil Australia of Dunlop Court, Bayswater operates a facility washing used containers (drums and intermediate bulk containers) that previously have stored oils and solvents. These containers are washed and recycled for reuse by industry.

The application process allows for a business that is already in operation where a Works Approval should have been sought. EPA is also considering whether enforcement action should be taken under its Compliance and Enforcement Policy as the facility had been operating unlicensed.

The details of the application are available at www.engage.vic.gov.au. Submissions can be made from 2 December 2020 and remain open until 13 January 2021.
