Truck and car crash in Tarago

Police are investigating a serious crash in the Southern Tablelands, NSW Police say.

About 12.50pm (Tuesday 10 April 2018), a truck and car collided on Braidwood Road, about 2km east of Tarago.

The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 60s, was seriously injured and airlifted to Canberra Hospital. She is believed to be in a critical condition.

The male truck driver was uninjured. He has been taken to Goulburn Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

About eight cattle in the truck were killed in the accident or euthanised by Primary Industries personnel following the crash.

The crash scene continues to be examined by forensic specialists. The road is expected to open within the hour.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
